And I also believe if someone owns a company they should be allowed to dictate guidelines in who they hire including being vaccinated.

I meant that in regards to social media. But if you read all my posts I came to the realization it meant social activities not social media.

Fair enough, that wasn't clear from that particular post. Still good to post the information and head off anyone else trying that line of argument.

Feel bad for those who can't get the vaccine. The league is really making it difficult on them.

Is there a reason that players cant get the vaccine? Serious Question, I was shocked how readily available it was just got mine last week.

No doubt there's some number who have medical conditions that mean they can't be vaccinated. All the more reason those who can be vaccinated should be vaccinated in order to protect those players. Same with the population at large.

Someone made a remark about who this was meant the protect, the unvaccinated from the unvaccinated? It also protects the vaccinated from the unvaccinated. The more people who don't get the vaccine the more likely it is that a vaccine-resistant or immune variation can appear and send us right back into lockdown.

Medical or Religous reasons. Some people who have an autoimmune disease shouldn't get it.

Legit question. Why is this vaccine so different from others. For instance if I get the polio vaccine I don't get polio. But someone who gets the covid vaccine cane still get covid. This is an honest question.

Make sense I was thinking of it a different way, I guess I just assumed if one is healthy enough to play football, medical concerns didn't even cross my mind. I get religious part, I don't know if things change, but I recalled around 15 years ago we were required to get certain vaccines before we could entered ULL, so I figured that most Universities Required Vaccines still, and you have to attend a university to play, so assume most players wouldn't be against vaccines. Or maybe there's way around requirement due to religious reasons.

It isn't different in so far as efficacy in preventing infection. Polio vaccines never provided 100% guaranteed immunity but because of how widely they were distributed we were able to eradicate polio from the population. We're also talking about two very different viruses. Polio is relatively stable, meaning it isn't prone to mutation. On the other hand, viruses like the flu and covid are very prone to mutation. That's why you need a new flu shot every year and why covid vaccines could also become a yearly necessity.

I believe they continue working on vaccines until they get it down, also as you continue getting vaccine your body gets better at fighting the virus. Essentially you are getting small doses of the virus. I feel they still need more research. My daughter was vaccinated from chicken pox and never got it, they essentially got to the point that you dont have to get chicken pox for your body to fight it.

This is true for a few of the COVID vaccines but many of them are based on mRNA and contain no virus whatsoever. They effectively give your body instructions on how to create the spike protein the virus uses to enter your cells so that your immune system can detect and destroy it should you be infected.

This.

The Polio vaccine is actually less effective than the Pfizer and Moderna covid vaccines and similar to the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. It just looks different because everyone got the Polio vaccine and wiped it out polio in a matter of a couple months. Of course, back then there weren't Russian and Chinese bots spreading conspiracy theories on social media trying to undermine America. Covid killed more Americans in a year than Polio did in the entire 20th century so you would think the vaccination efforts would be easier. The first vaccine was used in the 1700's and along with antibiotics helped to basically double the life expectancy of humans, widely considered two of the most important scientific breakthroughs in history. In a full twist of irony, more people question the safety of vaccines than viagra.

The biggest negative with vaccines? It has allowed alzheimers to become much more common because prior to vaccines the life expectancy wasn't long enough for the average person to get alzheimers.

If you get vaccinated and still catch it you do not get the serious version and die.

His statement was written poorly, but it's not a tough idea to follow.
"The serious Version and die?" You do realized the vast majority of deaths from this virus were older population with other underlying health issues right? These guys are athletes who most are in amazing health. Could some of them possibly die from the virus? Of course, but the chances are extremely low. Especially when the overall % chance of death for everyone is already extremely low. This isn't the second coming of the Bubonic Plague, it's pretty much another version of the flu.
