Saints' Brees earns NFC weekly honor

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has been named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 42-17 pasting of the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

While the NFL doesn’t make the official announcement on player of the week awards until today, it was reported Tuesday afternoon on www.neworleanssaints.com as the clubs receive advance notification.

...Brees joined Saints running back Reggie Bush, who was last week’s winner, in giving the franchise back-to-back offensive player of the week awards for the first time in franchise history.
