The New Orleans Saints and their fans were able to enjoy a relatively stress-free weekend of NFL football after the black and gold clinched the NFC South division title on Thursday night, and it didn’t disappoint. There were a number of impacts to the NFC playoff picture, with big ramifications for several division races.
A welcome assist came from the Baltimore Ravens, who handed the San Francisco 49ers their second loss of the season. San Francisco’s lead on the NFC West is tenuous at best right now, and they hold the projected top seed only due to their better in-conference record over the Saints.
