NFL acknowledges...privately...bad call on Saints; over last 3 years Saints opponents are LEAST PENALIZED (merged) (1 Viewer)

How many times have we heard this same old song and dance? Until there is some type of accountability by the refs (fines, suspensions), then this will just continue.

Privately acknowledging their mistake is more insulting than just ignoring it. There’s zero accountability for bad officiating. Saying “oops” 2 days later is just putting salt on the wound
The refs need to speak to the press after every game like the teams do. Punishment needs to be public like teams do. Secrecy breeds conspiracy.

The meat in this whole thing if we want it to change is that they are doing it to us because the league feels like Ms Gayle won’t say anything about it . They are discriminating against her because of her gender. It will get cleaned up. Guaranteed. The only thing they really fear is bad PR

Did the NFL tell the Saints not to go to the press after privately admitted it? Someone must’ve leaked it. My bet is Payton gives the NFL his middle finger again.

Only this goes back way further than her owning the team.

Maybe someone should do PFF style review on officials. Make it nice and visible.

Could the refs be better? YES. Could the replay and review be improved. YES. The problem is that the NFL refs have a union and because of that a CBA. That union has always resisted changes to the review process and even having full time refs since most make more in their regular jobs than they would get as full time refs. The last 2 times they went on strike because the NFL tried to increase the review rules and full time status they union went on strike. The league hired replacement refs were 3 times worse than the union refs were that fans and media begged the NFL to end the strike.

Notice the rubber pellets behind the DBs left foot… that’s the equivalent to “motion lines” in a drawing.. that shows that the DB turned into that hit on TLL with such force that it scraped up a bunch of fake dirt!

If you ever need any evidence to demonstrate how the NFL is entertainment and not true sport… this is it.
Unfortunately, the Saints are treated as the heels in this version of pro wrestling.
