NFL compares economy in Detroit to Katrina (1 Viewer)

I never have been in New Orleans but this should bother anyone.

Detroit's woes are a combination of a declining industrial base exacerbated by corrupt local government officials who have positions for life. IF Detroit had been hit by a natural disaster the choice of Katrina might be apt, but their problems are entirely man-made and the writer should have used a different comparison.

Maybe I'm overreacting here, but in this article, Howard Katz (NFL Senior Vice President for Broadcasting and Media Operations) was quoted as saying about the economy "To the person who lost his or her job in Detroit, this is every bit as difficult a situation to deal with as Katrina might have been in New Orleans."

Oh, really? Losing my job was just ONE of the things I had to worry about when Katrina hit.

He's getting an angry letter from me.

GEAUX SAINTS!

Detroit, for all intents and purposes is a self inflicted disaster that in no way shape or form resembles the acute sacking of new orleans.
