The strain of Mardi Gras on essential city services wouldn’t mix with a Super Bowl at the same time. Bensel even states in the article that this was a possibility with an extended schedule and they would give the city the Super Bowl in another year. This is not controversial and anything implying that is pushing a false narrative.

Bad headline. Not losing the hosting bid, just may delay it to 2025 due to expanded schedule and possible conflict with Mardi Gras.

I fail to see how it’s New Orleans’ fault that the NFL wanted a 17-game season and a 14-team playoff resulting in the season being extended.

Honor your agreement, NFL. You botched this, not us.

What’s your problem with them pushing it back a year? They don’t have to give us a Super Bowl. I’m surprised we’re getting one at all with all of the newer stadiums out there.
