NFL free agency has officially begun for the 2013 year, and the New Orleans Saints quickly lost two longtime players. Backup quarterback Chase Daniel has reportedly reached a deal to head to the Kansas City Chiefs. Also, on the offensive side of things, left tackle Jermon Bushrod has signed with the Chicago Bears. Both of these moves came on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Daniel has reportedly reached a three-year deal with the Chiefs. Bushrod is said to have gotten a five-year contract from the Bears worth $35.965 million with $17.715 guaranteed.
Daniel is a former undrafted free agent out of Missouri that has spent the last three seasons with the New Orleans Saints backing up Drew Brees. The Saints are happy for their former teammate.
