Seems textbook example to me of exactly how the NFL WANTS them to hit a QB. I have no idea what Matthews did wrong.

This league is getting more and more pathetic every time the rules committee gets together. Soon theyll put QBs in a pope mobile. They have got to do something about this ridiculousness.

Can't even touch the QB these days. Gonna be super fun playing big QBs. Can't hit them high or low, and can't wrap them up.

For starters Cousins left his feet

Pat Kirwin specifically addressed this earlier today on SiriusXM. He basically said that both of Cousins' feet were off the ground, so Matthews in no way lifted or 'burped' him. In fact, he said that Matthews did everything he could to try to soften the blow, in his opinion.

2 things can happen when you get a bunch of really smart people together. You either end up with a really good idea or you end up with an idea that is so complicated that it is stupid. That is what has happened to the NFL. Rather than simply acknowledging that playing the sport can cause health problems after retirement, designing equipment to help reduce some of the injuries and introducing language in every contract where a player acknowledges his understanding of the risk and agrees to it, The NFL is allowing lawyers who probably never played the sport ruin it. I wish some wealthy fans would launch a campaign on TV asking fans to stay home and watch games on TV until the NFL un-forks itself.

Only the kind of PR/propaganda operation run by Goodell could do this with a straight face.

Eventually, the only place people are going to be able to see a real football game played the way it's supposed to be played will be on Twitch watching 2 guys play Madden on xbox or playstation

Kind of funny how the truth of what the NFL is doing to itself literally exceeds our wildest imaginations. It’s more bizarre and strange than even the most outlandish predictions.

the NFL is run by beancounters and PR nerds who are so far divorced from real life that they probably can’t have sex with their wives without writing a report about it first.

So they don't want you to wrap them up from the front at all. Because there's no other way you can land than with some part of your body over the QB. So just shove them really hard or hit them without your arms so you don't fall on them.

And then the QBs will squirm away and throw a TD.
