The NFC South race has been neck-and-neck throughout the first three months of the season, with the upstart New Orleans Saints just recently pulling ahead of fellow hopefuls Carolina and Atlanta in their quest to reach the division's winner circle.

New Orleans made a statement last week, going to Atlanta and dismissing the favored Falcons by a decisive count of 31-13. That victory, coupled with enigmatic Carolina's loss in Washington, helped the Saints (7-4) wrest a one- game advantage over the Panthers (6-5) and a two-game edge on the Falcons (5-6).
