NFL Standings for the Decade (1 Viewer)

Which decade? 2010-19 or 2011-20? If the latter, it's kinda weird to phrase it as "the decade" instead of "the last decade" since "the decade" kinda implies the way we traditionally think of decades as specific 10-year periods ending in a year that ends in 9 like 1980-89 for instance.

What's wild is only two NFC teams went to the Super Bowl more than once in the last decade, both two times -- SEA (1-1) and SF (0-2). GB has basically been in the same boat we are -- a lot of good seasons, but haven't made it back to the dance.

Pats represented the AFC FIVE times (3-2). Broncos twice (1-1), Ravens, Chiefs one apiece (both 1-0).

Is this 2010-19 or 2011-2020? 2011-2020 would be a weird way to define a decade. I guess we were good in 2010 too so it wouldn't affect us much.

Yeah, it would make a one-game difference depending on which year is the ending point since we went 11-5 in 2010 and 12-4 this year.

The math has it as the 2010-19 seasons

2010-19: 13-3 (x3), 11-5 (x3), 7-9 (x4) = 100-60
2011-20: 13-3 (x3), 12-4 (x1), 11-5 (x2), 7-9 (x4) = 101-59

I take a few things from this.

The AFC East was pitful. Only division with 3 losing teams.
The NFC South had the best three team race in the NFC. Of course the 4th team, worst in the conference, would be in the playoffs this year.
I don't think wins are a QB stat but the common thread of the 100+ winning teams is a HoF level QB over the decade. Ravens show up admirably despite that.
Along that logic, Eli Manning...

Hm, I may have to adjust my Super Bowl appearances list...

It does add GB and PIT to the list, one appearance each -- in the same game, Packers win.

‘Nuff sed!

:beerchug:

Note that the 2nd & 3rd place finishers in nearly every other division had MORE wins than all the competition the Patriots had in the AFC-Least. :covri:

:gosaints:
Yea but it's hard for the other 3 teams to have as many wins as other division teams when Pats are dominating them with the 125 wins. We all agree the AFC East has been weak but the Pats get some credit for that, They made 5 SBs winning 3 of them, the division likely wouldn't have mattered much.

You could argue the Seahawks as the NFC team of the decade and yet the Saints have an almost identical record. And even GB has more wins. I guess I'm not surprised, but winning a super bowl really does have a lot of carryover in perception. I remember a lot of people wondering why the Eagles suck this year despite winning it all 2 very long seasons ago
