Nick Underhill thinks Carr will be Saints starter [mod edit: Moore-Carr meeting went well; Saints plan is to keep Carr in 2025 & figure out contract] (201 Viewers)

Carr was on fire for the 1st 2 games, before everyone got hurt! I think if he has weapons, he'll do great, and can get us to the Superbowl. He's not going to do it almost single-handedly, but I think he's better than many QBs that have gotten their teams to the Superbowl.
The whole team was on fire. However, looking back, the opponents were probably the biggest reason.

Heck, Nick's report is probably their source.

As much as I would like to believe it's not true, Nick got this from Loomis, Ireland, and Moore at the Combine so even if they are using Nick as the source, Nick got it directly from the 3 guys that really run the team. So, unless they change their mind, it seems like it's true.

People who want to cut Carr don't really understand the dire nature of the cap situation.

I believe many do understand the ins and outs of it, but don't fully understand the ramifications as it relates to team's actual desires rather than their own.

I have been saying all along that I believe and think this team believes it is not as bad as it is made out to be and that the organization feels as though it can win with this basic core with help in some key areas, better coaching and health added, and cutting Carr would basically zap that opportunity.

There is zero short term and minimal long term benefit to starting the reset this year; you'd just be blowing a year just to wind up in a very similar spot.

Run it back, bring in an infusion of young talent in the draft and free agency, and hope the better coach and coaching structure pays dividends. There is just no need to blow the team up or in essence "forfeit" an off-season.

I know he said it, but that doesn't mean he can't change his mind and I'm not sure what other financial things they would need to talk about since all the restructuring stuff can be done without talking to Carr or getting his consent. Maybe that's not what it is, but there is some hope.
I’m not sure if you actually heard the quote but he said it pretty emphatically. In my opinion he was almost ticked off that someone would even ask him a hypothetical if he would do it….. He’s not taking a cut lol

He was doing well until all the injuries started.
Including his own. Oblique, freak thing uncontrollable that one I can’t fault him for. But the broken hand sorry that’s 100% on him. He’s not a running QB and he shouldn’t be diving head first (missed games with concussion in 23 for doing just that) much less trying to jump over a defender.

I want to keep Carr until somebody beats him out of the #1 job. At this time, Carr is hands down our best QB. I don’t understand the hate towards him. He is who he is.
I don't think it's "hate". It's that Carr isn't the future QB for years to come. My opinion, it's time to move on. Carr is what Carr is, a .500 QB.

Weird that Mickey would confirm Carr as the 2025 starting QB. Did our new coach okay this decision? Was he asked?

It came straight from the GM's mouth...

That's not what i'm talking about.

I'm referring to the media guys that are "confirming" Nicks report with their sources who most likely don't have them.

My point is that no one is claiming sources. It was a media interview involving the coach and GM.
