Nielsen takes Falcons DC job (1 Viewer)

Our only home grown coach walks to our biggest rival because of our joke of a head coach didn't give him an exclusive DC title.

Mannnnnnn.... People are going to be celebrating when Dennis is fired. I tell you now

How so? A leader's job is to develop an understudy to move onto bigger roles.
He wouldn't be legally allowed to make a lateral move without permission from Saints. It's why fan blasted that Co-DC title, because it doesn't make sense and it doesn't stop Ryan from leaving while under contract.

Think we’ll keep Richard as DC?

That hurts as he is gonna be a successful head coach one day soon. In addition, the dirty birds get a quality defensive coach who knows everything about the Saints!
Well we're pretty likely to have a job opening fairly soon so maybe it'll time out for us.

So flip a coin over Nielsen or Richard. Hate to lose either, and maybe both.

Even if Allen had settled on one over the other, it would be a bad look for the team to block a move over titles if another opportunity allowed for playcalling duties.

DC with play calling responsibility is still a promotion and the Saints wouldn't have been able to block it according to Loomis. But in the end, he's just a D-line coach who was never able to develop 2 number 1 pick DEs. I'm not sure it's as big of as loss as some think.
