This loss hurts. Nielson did an excellent job as the defensive-line coach. He was one of my favorites on the coaching staff.

Well good for him. Did an excellent job and I expect him to land a NFL job within 2 years.

Both the coaches that are leaving, Nielsen and Carpenter are great teachers.

I really hope that besides teaching players, they have left a successor to get their jobs. At defensive line, maybe ex-player Brian Young may get that promotion.

A good thingI can think of this is that we may get better intelligence regarding LSU players.

Now regarding Nielsen, will he be the next LSU coach in the future? Time will tell.

Why would you want Neilson to stay at D Line coach, when he can get a DC job somewhere? It’s called a promotion and we should be happy for him.

Bad for us, bad for LSU. Nielsen has not shown that he is an X and O guy, more of a technique and motivational guy. Motivation works on positions, but not coordinators. Who knows, he may surprise me.
