Nineteen new COVID related cases yesterday NFL (1 Viewer)

Yep, recent research says ant-bodies last 2-3 months. This virus reminds me of the chicken pox. Once you've had the pox,you
won't catch it again, but you are going to be prone to catching the shingles later in life. This virus is insidious. People exposing
themselves to it in order to build up anti-bodies is pure stupid.
Dr FaucI just testified that new research is showing that the immunity likely has more to do with t-cells, not anti-bodies. It’s a positive sign. But the research is still in its infancy.

How do we know when this virus is only a few months into its heyday?

We've known about it since January so that's 6 months, not to mention there's 6 other types of coronavirus that probably give us clues as to what we might expect.

The bigger concern is long term effects. Football players should be healthy enough to survive it but there's been reports of healthy people struggling to breath properly when exerting themselves months after getting it. Even if they isolated themselves to reduce spreading it, they may not be 100 percent after recovering. This may go away over time but it will still mean they could severely underperform for a large chunk of the current season. Not to mention it could be possible to catch it again.

I don't think we have a season at this point. If we do it might look like preseason football, the 4th game of preseason.

You dont need a proven method to know what you're currently doing isn't working. Its kind of obvious.
You can do all the RIGHT things as a company or organization, but if those that are actually working within same do not adhere to strict guidelines outside of their organization, THAT is the biggest problem. And as we all know. Pro athletes, in general, are not known to have the highest IQ’s.

I would imagine that, when it comes to COVID-19, outside contact tracing would be part of that scope. If it isn’t, then that’s an area that needs to be considered. That should be part of the review I mentioned.

i thought that Chung opted out because his wife is pregnant and they were being extremely careful. That didn't last long lol, what was he doing?? If he's in MA as well where it's barely prevalent he must have really screwed up.

Let me put it in more simpler terms. Each team has what, a total of 8-9 QUALITY linemen active for each game? WHAT HAPPENS WHEN 4-5 GET INFECTED?

Pass it a lot with few to no hand-offs to Latavius Murray.

So pretty much business as usual.

It's seven-eight months into its global 'heyday'.
It has been in the NOLA area since last September. One local hospital had a record number of ICU patients, due to “severe upper respiratory infection and or double pneumonia”. Patients were tested for the flu and were all coming back negative. They had no idea at the time, of what potentially novel virus could have been. So they attributed the cases as I stated to severe URI and or double pneumonia. Long time doctor’s and nurses that worked there, said and say they never saw anything like they had witnessed last fall. They are already preparing for the upcoming dreaded fall and winter seasons. They have also recently doubled up their ICU capacity.

It has been here for almost a year. But do not kid yourself. Once it became so widely known what was going on in China and tests were developed to detect it in this country, is when it became too obvious not to reveal what was happening.

I always ask this question of someone when discussing the virus.

If this virus was ONLY in Wuhan China, starting back in December, how did it spread world wide to ALL countries in a few short months and infect so many, if it could only be transmitted by coming into close contact with an infected person? Think about that for a minute.

IT HAS BEEN IN THIS COUNTRY FOR A WHILE!

I was responding to the suggestion it had only been around for three months, as someone used this as a basis for questioning some scientific findings that have been put forward.

Rather than being concerned with where and when it started, I simply wanted to point out it's been globally prevalent and known about for study for several months.

As for your question about transmission rates, yes, that amount of spread in a few short months is entirely possible, because pandemics can do that. Spending time on alternative theories just distracts from the issues at hand the world has to face in the here and now.

The NFL would have had to set up eight "bubbles" of about 500 people each. Each Division would have had their own "bubble" and stayed in the same city and played six games in that city, two against each division opponent. After those six games, take the four "Division Winners" and play a Divisional Round and then a Championship Round of playoffs. A six game regular season, two playoff weekends and then a Super Bowl. Each week during the regular season would have been staggered with half of the Divisions one weekend and half the next. So, each team would have had six regular season games in a twelve week season. With the staggered start a thirteen week season. Could have started in Mid September. The way it will likely go down is the season will start, one or more teams will get Covid wipe-out and the season will "pause" and then start again and then end. IF Roger can somehow get an "outcome" that gets enough games in to have a farce of a playoffs among his favorite teams, they will wait another month and announce who was "selected" to make the playoffs. They might use some magical "formula" to exclude the Saints.

The NFL still has time to do this. The "bubble" cities would ideally have four nice sized hotels very near a stadium that could handle all of those practices. Teams could even scrimmage for a quarter in their off weeks. Four NFC Cities, Santa Clara - NFC West, Minneapolis - NFC North, Dallas - NFC East, New Orleans (or Atlanta) NFC South. Four AFC Cities, AFC East, New York / NJ, AFC South, Houston, AFC North Pittsburgh (or Baltimore), AFC West Las Vegas if stadium is ready, (if not Denver).

It looks like the NBA bubble might work. NFL just needs to do eight bubbles.

Someone else mentioned that the indoor stadiums might night be a good idea, and all they really need are pro-quality fields. The hotel aspect is critical, which means it would have to be major metro areas.

Well, at least the trend COVID Reserve List additions are going down.
