It was good to see the team get a feel in the beginning with playing our first string and scoring the quick touchdown. As our second string came on they did well, IMO. Carolina was playing fierce, wanted this game (and needed it). I thought that we handled their pressure relatively well. The defense was showing some weakness, but, overall, the team was playing a very laid back game, as was expected. I saw no surprises today and saw no real weakness from our second string. The first string (albeit brief), looked sharp and poised. Very impressive and it gives me a great impression heading into the playoffs in two weeks. Something tells me that this team is smart, is led by smart people, and will come out full force in the playoffs and I look forward to watching the Saints in the playoffs. I expect quite a few surprises and trick plays. I think the Saints played a game today, that NFL fans would expect from any team in the Saints position. It would have been nice to have a win, but, it was even nicer, for me, watching the game stress free and knowing what really lies ahead. In two weeks, I expect to see a Saints team come out that will be agressive, smart, sharp, and mentally & physically ready for a run at the Superbowl. GO SAINTS!!!!

Very smart, intelligent post.

Ditto to your remarks! :gosaints:

I think that we can all agree that if we were sitting here wondering if Brees was gonna recover from his concussion/high ankle sprain/bruised ribs in time to play 2 weeks from now, well, Payton would have failed his mission.

As it stands, we are extremely healthy heading into a home game in the 2nd round of the playoffs...heretofore uncharted territory. I think that I will go open an icy cold barley pop in celebration of that fact.

Definitely agree here, good post alon504.

I was actually pretty impressed by how well the second and third stringers played. Steve Gleason, Bryan Scott, and Danny Clark really played well. And although he didn't play great, I was thought Martin had a servicable game.

The team, as a whole, played their fannies off, despite nothing to gain as a team.
