This fits perfectly with North Korea's pattern. Most think-tank and foreign policy analysts think it is entirely empty and made a a result of North Korea's internal situation.

While certainly US forces should be ready and on alert, I don't understand why our public statements and actions fan this fire. We only make it easier for them to keep up this charade of being in a semi-war situation. And that allow them to avoid internal dissent (about why a starving nation should spend so much on military - we make it easy for then to say 'see! The Americans threaten us).

They should be respected and prepared for inside of our defense network but we should not engage in this blister. IMO.

Because we need a Eurasia AND an Eastasia....

Read something last week or early this week, CNN maybe?, with "experts" talking about what to expect if it does fire up. The consensus: 1 of 2 endings - PRK out of existence or last minute China involvement; 1 week to 1 month maximum length; minimum over 100,000 casualties per day, some days maybe over $1 Million civilians given the number of simple artillery guns that can't be taken out quickly pointed at ROK cities. Basically, they'd expect it to be one of the quickest wars in history, but to be far and away the highest casualty rate per day of any war in history. If it happens, though the end may be reasonably moot, it'll be one of the bloodiest wars in history.
