Worth thinking about for those who wonder how you win in the playoffs.

The NY Times football blog gives credit for their home-town team's championship to the GM who built the current team, but stepped down just before the start of this season, Ernie Accorsi.

"Who Gets the Credit?
By Toni Monkovic

This is more uplifting than writing: Who Gets the Blame?
I’ll start it off with (maybe) an unconventional pick: Ernie Accorsi, the general manager who stepped down before this season.
When I think of the Giants’ playoff run, I picture bodies flying by and hurtling at Tony Romo, Brett Favre and Tom Brady.
The season in a sentence: You can never have enough pass rushers.
I did a Web search after those words stuck in my mind, and sure enough, Accorsi had said: “You never, ever have enough pass rushers.”"

yup. Good ole fashioned KILL THE QB. It still works. We haven't the personell to play this game right now.

for all of us who don't start our draft studies until the previous season is over, who is that hulking, roid-infused pass rusher?

1. We build a Championship Calibre defense, like the Giants already have. Last night proved that even the most productive offense in NFL History has serious problems coping with a premier pass rush.

2. Said defense shall be built around our defensive line rotation. Sign a DT and DE. Draft a DT and DE. Rotate Smith/Rookie/Wynn on one end, Grant/Free agent/Cooper on the other. Have a nose tackle rotation of Hollis, Clancy and Wynn. DT rotation of Free Agent, Lake, Charles Grant and Rookie.

3. Book flights to Tampa.:ezbill:

Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State. After this game and Grant's incident he should soar up our board. Unfortunately he will be like Sed Ellis and rise up everyone elses after the combine.

That is Jake Long, not a ragdoll.
