If this guy was as good as his ego, Dallas would be 14-2 instead of 9-7, and limping into Seattle.

Thank goodness he's not our problem.

IRVING, Texas - About a month ago, Terrell Owens said he wouldn’t be excited until the playoffs start.

Well, they’re here. And T.O. is ... about the same as he was a month ago.

But, he promised Wednesday, that’s only because he is saving himself — for Saturday night, when the Dallas Cowboys play in Seattle against a Seahawks defense scrambling to find guys to plug in at cornerback.

In answer to your question, Deion Sanders had an ego to match T.O.'s. The difference was that Sanders was a transcendant talent and made great use of it. Owens is talented, but not more so than several other receivers currently playing the game, including one on his own team. He has created a climate that, unless he is flawless, people will joyously point out his failings.

And it's his fault.

I think the playoffs are T.O.'s last chance at another legitimate NFL deal. He had a good statistical year this season, but anyone who watched the Cowboys knows that he was not the Owens of old. Dropped way too many balls, disappeared for long stretches of games. He's no long an "elite" receiver, and his "elite" status was the only thing that made a fat contract worth all of the baggage that comes along with him.

If Owens has a mediocre postseason, how many teams will want to roll the dice with him? I don't think he'll be back with the Cowboys next year.

Actually, I think as far as TO goes, those comments aren't that bad.

Deangelo Hall is pretty full of himself. Dude seems to care more about going to the Pro-Bowl than the playoffs.

The TV commercial featuring the football character named Leon was certainly patterned after Terrell Owens.

In one scene he wouldn't even do a TV interview unless the camera was showing his "good side".

I used to think that those ads were 'art imitating life'... but no matter how self-absorbed and egotistical that Leon character was portrayed to be, he could not even come close to the real Mr Conceited, Terrell Owens.

How bout the whole "my name is Terrell Owens, not TO. The media made TO".

If you blame the media and the fans for "creating" TO, then why have you egged it on and been this "TO" character for all these years?

He's so stupid that he doesn't understand how stupid he really is.

When he was traded from San Fran to Philly (well, to Baltimore first, briefly), he probably was the best WR in the NFL. But he simply hasn't been the same since he came back from that broken ankle (leg? some bone) from the now infamous "horsecollar" tackle. I don't think that he's any different physically. It seems to be all mental...a lack of focus or desire or simply not caring.

He's still a good receiver, but not the best. Marvin Harrison is better. Chad Johnson is better. Heck, Marques Colston is probably better. I'd put him on par with a healthy Joe Horn at this point.

Man,could you imagine having a reciever with his size and speed who could catch the ball and who was humble.Oh yeah we do.COLSTON!!!!

Interesting. Mike and Mike in the Morning were interviewing a ESPN radio personality in Dallas (forgot name). He mentioned that TO has been a distraction in the locker room. This has caused Parcells to lose some credibility with the team because he has let TO get away with things that would be unacceptable for a regular player on the team.

That shouldn't have surprised the players if they knew how Parcells has handled other situations in the past. I.E. Lawrence Taylor.

LT was by no means a distraction like T.O... But Parcells certainly turned his head on LT's off-the-field issues.
