At stake was the power in the NFC. After a 48-27 win over the Giants, the Saints now hold that.
In the battle of two of the conference’s unbeatens, New Orleans set an early offensive pace the Giants couldn’t keep up with, racking up 493 total yards and putting seven different players in the end zone.
New Orleans (5-0) and Minnesota (6-0) are now atop the NFC, while the Giants fall to 5-1.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees was at his best, passing for 369 yards and four touchdowns while exposing a top-ranked Giants defense that didn’t get pressure up front and struggled in pass coverage. Meanwhile, the Giants’ offense couldn’t sustain any momentum after failing to score on its opening drive for the first time all season.
