Our offense is struggling mightily. No rhythm, consistency, or identity. IMHO the reason I’m some combination of the following:

1) Poor scheme. We are maddeningly predictable. We have no quick hit plays to beat an overload pass rush. We run into an 8-9 man box. We only pass when down/distance requires it. Do we not have a QB who can execute something more complex? Do we lack other personnel?

2) Poor play calling. We never seem to have an answer and adjust to the other team’s play. TB beat our pass rush with quick hit crossing routes. We never do that. Our RBs run into a run stop D and get hit in the backfield, again and again. Carmichael doesn’t seem to have “it”.

3) Poor execution. QB decision making. Fumbles. Multiple false starts. Can’t open a hole for an RB. Some of these are team discipline issues and point to Allen.

Scheme, play calling, and discipline can be fixed in season. Lack of the right players or coaches likely cannot.

So where do we start in order to get better?

I am at a loss. It is obvious that Winston is totally unable to throw receivers open or connect with someone who is covered. He can throw into loose zones where guys are running free but he is not an NFL starter. His throwing motion is a sort of a windup that seems to take forever to release. It doesn't look good.
