The Saints received a trade offer. The choices are to either vote for the trade down or one of the players.

TRADE DOWN
The Bengals will give us #21 and #56 for #15, we flip 3rd round picks, and the Saints 5th round pick.

Yes, trade down.

Nice.

Please let this happen in the real draft.

Fluker likely will still be there. Vaccaro, Werner possible as well.

The 2nd round of this draft is strong. Getting a 2nd round pick is crucial.

Hmmm...We move down 6 spots, gain a 2nd round pick, pick later in the third and lose our 5th?

Someone tell me why this is a good trade, please. I am willing to be convinced.

No on the trade down. Take Mingo, keep moving.

The talent flattens out at a certain point such that the guy we get at #21 "might" possibly not be any better than the guy at #56. I am not anti-second rounders as much as I am not in support of bypassing a potential impact player for a good, but non-elite prospect at #21, depending on what happens between picks #15 and 21.

And then we are losing our fifth rounder while dropping six spots in the third. NO! NO! NO!

By the way, I like Richardson but I just think Mingo makes more sense. Right now, we have tow outside backers on the roster. On the other hand, we have Bunkley in the middle with Hicks who can play the nose. We also have Hicks who can play DE along with Cam Jordan, Will Smith, Tom Johnson, etc. I expect that we will add a NT at some point in this draft so the selection of Richardson really becomes a bit of a luxury pick given our depth at DE and our needs at OLB. Mingo makes more sense right now and if you slide down there is no guarantee he will be there.

the swap of the 3rd round and 1st round is negligible since there isn't a must take at #15 right now (by the time you get to the 3rd round, even more negligible)...it's only 6 spots

losing a 5th and gaining a 2nd....the real effect of this trade....no brainer.

This draft may not have a big top end (5-8 impact players like the usual draft), but it's a deeper draft in terms of the top 75 players. We need that 2nd pick within that 75.

should be a landslide victory getting close to 50 percent of the vote

Thats tough, a trade down, bjoern werner, and sheldon richardson all look like great picks...

Bjoern Werner lost weight to get quicker, if he stayed slim he could play OLB for us, he looked great in linebacker drills at his pro day, or he could bulk back up to 280-285 and play weakside DE for us with cam jordan remaining at strong side...

Dont pick Richardson that guy sucks :hihi:

It's so hard to tell who has a pick coming up shortly after this...

My problem with trading down is that #21 is too far. At this point, I'd take any one of Werner, Richardson, Mingo, or Patterson (admittedly my last choice of those four). So trading down more than four spots is asking not to get any of them.

I'm also not that crazy about the trade details. I think we're getting the short end of the stick on that trade.

Rugger, can we get an official poll with this? I rather see us having an official vote count then what appears to be a straw poll.

At a glance, his measurables seem Paul Kruger-like, who the FO was very high on. I think you take him now and not risk him not being there later on. Plus scouts at his pro-day were raving about his LB drill work. Looked good as an OLB

Yeah, i dont care if he ran a 4.8, he has an elite first step, brute strength and violent hands, he could stay slim and play either OLB position or bulk up and play DE 5tech
