WHO DAT, for Week 6 NFL Gameday, Saints Nation! WHO DAT!!! Our 4-1 and NFC South leading New Orleans Saints are down the road on Interstate 10 in Northeast Florida, to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second of four AFC South interdivisional opponents they will play during the 2019 NFL season. Saints are also playing, and visiting the Jaguars in Jacksonville for the first time in 8 years.
Saints fans will neither see Drew Brees, or the Jaguars veteran QB Nick Foles, who signed a lucrative free-agent contract with Jacksonville when free agency started last March on the playing field from Jacksonville this Sunday afternoon, but instead will see backup QB, and five-year veteran Teddy Bridgewater play opposite the Jaguars rookie QB Gardner Minshew II, drafted in the sixth-round by the Jaguars from Washington State University,
Brees is still recovering after his surgery from his torn ligament in his right thumb of his throwing hand he suffered earlier, after DE Aaron Donald hit his hand with his helmet during a game at the L.A. Rams, while Nick Foles also suffered a broken left clavicle in his left shoulder in Week One vs. the K.C. Chiefs, and is placed both on injured reserve, and he is out for the season.
New Orleans are also ranked #19 in the NFL in both Team Offense And Team Defense, after 5 weeks of regular season games heading into this afternoon.
New Orleans leads the all-time regular season series as of today with their 4-2 record, including the Saints current three-game streak. in Sunday's afternoon's seventh meeting.
New Orleans defeated Jacksonville by the score of 38-27 in both teams last regular season meeting played at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome back on December 27, 2015. Drew Brees threw three touchdown passes, each from 17 yards to Michael Hoomanawanui, and 71 yards to Brandin Cooks, both in the first quarter, and 44 yards to Travaris Cadet, 2 TD runs by Tim Hightower from 1 yards and 5 yards, and Kai Forbath's 5 PAT's and 37-yard field goal completed the game scoring that day for New Orleans.
Saints also defeated the Jaguars in New Orleans last regular season visit at Jacksonville. Saints RB Jed Collins scored on a 1-yard TD run, followed by Drew Brees 1-yard TD pass to TE Jimmy Graham, and John Kasey followed with two PAT's, and three consecutive field goals from 39, 38, and 21 yards, for the Saints game scoring, and defeat the Jaguars 23-10 at EverBank Field back on October 2, 2011.
A mix of clear and partly cloudy skies at 83 degrees, feels like 85 degrees, is the local gamecast inside Teachers Insurance And Annuity Association Of America Field, for the 12:05 PM, Central Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation, 52% humidity, and south/southeast winds at 8 miles per hour.
Head Linesman Jerome Boger leads his NFL officiating crew, to supervise the live game action on the TIAA Bank Field between the Saints and Jaguars.
NO injuries, let's hope our Saints prevail with both Teddy winning his fourth straight game as the Saints starter, and the Saints team leave Jacksonville at 5-1, and GEAUX SAINTS!!! WHO DAT!!!!
