WHO DAT, Saints fans, WHO DAT!!!!! Our New Orleans Saints lead off the NFL Playoffs this weekend as they travel again to Seattle for the rematch in the NFC Divisional a Playoff Game. Saints seek to avenge their earlier road loss to the Seahawks during Week 13 of the regular season where Seattle defeated New Orleans 34-7 on Monday Night Football back on December 2, 2013.
Saints also advance past the Wild Card Playoff Game for the first time since 2011, since defeating the Detroit Lions 35-28 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome after winning the NFC South Division title with a 13-3 regular season record.
Both the Saints and Seahawks are meeting in only the 14th time since the Seahawks entered the NFL in 1976. New Orleans routed Seattle by the score of 51-27 in the first game of the series played at the Kingdome in Seattle back on November 21, 1976. Seahawks also defeated the Saints in both teams only other postseason meeting, winning 41-36 in the NFC Wild Card Playoff game also played at CenturyLink Field three years ago back on January 8, 2011.
A Saints win this afternoon would even the overall regular and postseason record between the teams at 7 games apiece. Saints have lost 5 of the last previous 7 games, both regular season and the Wild Card Game, dating to their 20-17 overtime win over the Seahawks played at the Superdome played on November 16, 1997.
Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline/field reporter and interviewee Erin Andrews, for the NFL On FOX, seen nationally and locally in the New Orleans area on WVUE FOX channel 8, live on HD.
Jim Henderson and Hokie Gajan are also announcing the live radio game play-by-play and analysis, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Kristian Garic simulcast on flagship stations WWL 870AM and 103.5FM, and throughout the Gulf Coast on the Saints Radio Network.
Cloudy skies. rain and wind at 49 degrees is the local game forecast inside CenturyLink Field, feels like and with a wind chill of 42 degrees for the 3:35PM Central Standard Time kickoff, along with 80% humidity, 70% precipitation, and southern winds at 11 miles per hour.
Saints are wearing their white jerseys, and gold pants on the road , while the Seahawks are wearing their marching navy blue and lime green jerseys and pants on the field this afternoon.
NO injuries to both the Saints and Seahawks, overcome the Seahawks 12th man in rematch at Seattle, and hope the Saints win and advance to play in the NFC Championship Game next Sunday. GEAUX SAINTS, and WHO DAT!!!!! :saintshelmet::saintshelmet:: :saintshelmet:: :saintshelmet:
