There are still a few on Squared Circle insisting in must be a work despite it making no sense. These are the same people the insist the Montreal Scrwwjob was a work and that Kevin Sullivan is the one that really killed Benoit and his family.

Scott Hall (RIP) repeatedly insisted Montreal was a work. His logic was that there's no way then-WWF would have kept the cameras on Bret while he was spelling out "W C W" in the air with his index finger. It's not so much his reasoning that baffled me, it's the fact that someone who was so close with HBK and HHH.....both of whom were in the thick of everything that happened that night.....would maintain that belief. Unless he felt his buddies were "working" him.

In regards to Sasha/Naomi.......I'm having flashbacks to Matt Hardy in Summer 2005, where WWE will take an actual incident and somehow get both women back into the fold and make a storyline out of it.

You're going to miss out on two debuts. TK confirmed on Busted Open that each joker tonight in the Owen Hart tournament will be new arrivals and not any returning wrestlers.
Thanks for the update, I hadn’t heard that (though it isn’t too surprising).

First joker is a big 'meh' for me.
I’m glad that they didn’t hype it up a lot because then I would have felt pretty let down.

I’m not super excited about Morrison/Elite but he is a terrific athlete and solid vet. I’m sure he can be useful (even though not a big deal).

Does this mean Taya will be the female joker? I have never seen her but I’ve heard really good things. Maybe that’s the “real” get?

Punk is really good on commentary and I’m enjoying this match between 2 guys who are way more athletic than they look.

I do agree that Morrison/Elite has talent and can be of use. Just the reveal being him definitely didn't make me pop.

As for the female joker, I'd be far more excited for Ember Moon/Athena.

Yeah, the match with Joe being good but average made me feel that way too.

I’d love Athena (and have actually seen her in the ring).

Really liking this Hangman vs Takeshita match.

So are we all in consensus in hoping that Athena shows up tonight?

Just remember though, the superstars formerly known as Nia Jax and Lana have announced their return to in-ring performance. :omg2:
:hihi:

Morrison was amazing in Lucha Underground, he was a heel the whole time. Now do I care for him in AEW, I don’t know

I really hate the push TK seemingly is giving to the former UE members. I really don't see them as exciting.

I don't think he cares.
I’m sure he doesn’t. Bear in mind though that this is a company that lost a sponsorship because Nick Gage used a pizza cutter during a picture-in-picture advertisement for Dominoes. And it’s a company that’s status with the new ownership of WarnerMedia is a little less assured than it once was.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Punk, I share his values, I respect him for taking that stance. I’m just looking at it from a strictly commercial perspective. And, to a degree, having regard to his personal welfare given the class of person likely to be offended by that shirt is not usually the class to respond to a grievance in a thoughtful, articulate or reasonable way.
