My favorite day of spring?
Well, you can have your afternoon at Churchill Downs, your Memorial Day barbeques, and your Cinco de Mayo festivities. Me? I'll take sitting in a cavernous, poorly lit New York City theater from dusk till dawn for two straight days at the end of April. Enjoy your fun in the sun, friends. Sign me up for laboring over just exactly where Kansas State receiver Jordy Nelson ends up playing next season.
Ah, yes, the NFL draft. A time for war rooms, foul-mouthed Jets fans from Long Island, and the wonder that is Mel Kiper's hair. A time for last second decisions and eternal green room waits. A time for no-brainers and second guesses.
Put simply, the best time of the year.
