The player (OT from Northwestern) was interviewed by Arthur Smith, Atlanta HC, leading up to the 2023 NFL draft. Skoronski was eventually drafted by the Titans later in the first round.

If this is how the Falcons’ head coach speaks to players, it’s gonna be hard for him to motivate his team if they happen to be down 28-3 at halftime. 🤔

Welp… they aren’t called the clowns 🤡 for nothing!

:gosaints:

Meh. Hate to defend anything Atlanta, but I didn’t think it was that big of a deal or was meant to be taken the way this article tries to characterize it.

It was either a test, or an attempt to get the player to loosen up and not just be generic-answer guy.

Let me guess…was his biggest weakness is that he works too hard and is too much of a perfectionist?

Agreed. Brings to mind the Kobe “soft” meme, if this is deemed inappropriate. Charmin soft.

I agree with you on it being much to do about nothing.

It is also sometimes a test to see how someone will react. I hate the falcons as much as the next guy but this is a non-story. Once upon a time our de facto GM asked a prospect if his mom was a prostitute. Dumb things get asked and said in interviews it’s part of the process.

He was probably just testing the prospect’s reaction to criticism from a coach.

There are making tons interviews.

The Coach is listening to pre-written vanilla answers from a prospect.
He tries another angle by telling the player he is getting bored.

Players keep answering to his script.

Not a big deal at all.

People tend or like to forget what led to Ireland asking that question. Ireland asked Bryant what his father did for a living when Bryant was growing up, to which Bryant replied "he was a pimp"; then Ireland asked what did his mom do, to which Bryant replied "she worked for my dad".

But since Bryant first mentioned the question when reporters asked what sort of weird questions did GM's asked, without the context of the line of questioning that led to Ireland's question, it became a scandal.
