The screen game for the New Orleans Saints has joined K&B, Schwegmann's and the team's perceived invincibility at the Superdome in the category of "Ain't dere no more."

We never used to question the Saints' ability to dial up a successful screen pass before the 2016 season. The offensive line would let defenders appear to have a clean shot at Drew Brees, who would then loft the ball over their heads and into the waiting hands of a running back. Then, the Saints would be off to the races. Remember when Pierre Thomas would smoothly set up his blockers and navigate through defenders for huge gains, including a touchdown in Super Bowl 44?

This year's team looks like it has never run the play before. Brees has thrown more screen passes into the ground this season than completions for notable gains.
