MOBILE, Ala. — Growing up in south Louisiana on Bayou Lafourche, Ed Orgeron remembers listening to the New Orleans Saints’ first game in 1967 on the radio before becoming one of the team’s loyal fans.
More than 40 years later, Orgeron will do more than watch his favorite NFL team from afar. The former Ole Miss head coach became the franchise’s newest employee Wednesday when third-year coach Sean Payton hired him to coach the defensive line.
