Remember, as good as we were last year we will be adding through the draft and also adding these two. Looking at the video they both have a lot of speed and look to be promising young players in GW's system. I'm pretty excited about seeing them...especially Vaughn!!

Just posing a question....Do the injuries that happened to chip and Stanly hurt their ceiling of potential at all, or do you think they will make a full recovery?

I think these two can make in impact on the team and it will be nice to see what Williams can do with these two athletes.

Judging from the video, Vaughn is an outstanding open field tackler which is something we could use on defense and special teams.

I've been really wondering about this myself. A whole year off, their first year outta college too. I'm hoping they have had a good recovery and are able to come right out and destroy some bodies, would really help us out with depth.

Our two extra draft picks this year...
This is nothing in regards to Chip or Arnoux, but that statement in the title of this thread is :jpshakehead:. Drafting two players to the IR one season does not give a team two 'extra' draft picks the next year - it just means we played without the potential added value of two draft picks this past year.

Since our investment is finally coming to fruition it is, in a sense, two additional players from the draft that we will get this year.

I remember Vaughn initially being "******" that he was being placed on the IR, saying the injury wasn't that bad and he could be back to play. Sort of like when Adrian Arrington was placed on IR with turf toe in the preseason his rookie season. So this injury may not affect his potential as much as feared.

chip seems like more of a SS to me. Not necessarily a ball hawk.
This was exactly what I was thinking. I didn't see enough of a ball hawk in him. Lots of powerful hits and great open field tackling which is a definite need in our run support. But with the scheme GW uses in our secondary, our free safety sort of NEEDS to be a ball hawk so we can get those turnovers. Without Sharper's 9 INTs last season, we would only have 17 INTs in the regular season making us a middle of the pack defense in turnovers.

since both players were in IR every game last year, they certainly are like 2 additional draft picks..they were not in the plans of last year's super bowl team. It would be great if Arnoux could fully recover and provide depth...

The thing I didn't really realize or remember is that Chip Vaughn is 6-2, 221, and runs in the 4.4's...thats amazing. I think that if he learns the game he has the potential to be a FS, but I agree that as of now he is a SS. I just think the team would want to get a guy like that on the field and I have a hard time seeing him take Harper's spot...and Sharper may be gone so...but ya never know...

Edit: I know this video says 4.5's, but I'm pretty sure he ran in the 4.45-ish range.

Oh, ok, thanks...maybe I got him and Jenkins mixed up. 4.51 is still pretty good considering he's 221 though. Good find.

I am always a little skeptical of pro-day 40's...
