Fortunately for Saints fans, the guys who used to wear the throwback uniforms the team sported on Sunday were in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome as well.

It gave the fans something to cheer about on a day when the current team didn’t.

The Saints took this whole throwback uniform thing a tad bit too far.

They not only looked the part, breaking out the old gold pants and black jerseys, but they also played the part of so many Saints teams from years past.

On a day when the Saints honored their All-50th team, the current team decided to remind the fans of how rough things used to be.

No, there weren’t any fans in the Dome wearing paper bags over their heads, but Sunday’s 28-13 loss to the Detroit Lions definitely had its share of paper bag moments.
