Ozark season 3 this Friday 3/27/2020 (2 Viewers)

I feel no sympathy for Ben. He’s a moron imo.
Idk what happens to him yet but whatever it is, he’s begging for it. (I read above that it’s a shame what happened to him)

Of course its a shame what happened to him. He was a good guy with a good heart that had a mental illness

Hmmm. Guess I saw it as a guy who had a terrible temper. Not a mental illness. I’d wager that the majority of the world is bi-polar (what they said he was) and that the thing that separates us as people is how we react to situations. As we ALL face battles.
ETA:
Episode nine does portray him as being very mentally unstable. I’m still feeling no sympathy for his character.

I think you’re confusing mood swings with bipolar
Some people (a small percentage) have severe chemical imbalance that drugs help balance
Wendy indicated that Ben has been like that since at least teen years

You can believe what you want but the writers clearly wrote Ben as someone with a severe mental illness

I know all about the difference.
As it’s been written Marty and Wendy have their own personality issues lol. Glass houses and such.

And I will, for whatever reason I feel no sympathy for Ben. With how it’s been portrayed.
ETA:
He leaves and heads to the casino after being told how much of a bad idea that is. One thing is without doubt imo, he’s definitely written to be extremely ignorant and naive.

I have to be the only person that wasn't a fan of the ben character. Me and the wife had some conversations about it and I really thought his parts were too drawn out and kind of a side road from the show. The whole taxi scene was just promoting he had fell off the wagon which I think had already been established...just felt un-needed to me. My wife loved the character....me not so much. I guess I can see where there there are loose ends there and I'd maybe see a point where he wasn't dead but that's also a huge thing Marty would've hid from wendy while consoling her. Not sure it works. I hope he's gone haha

He was written to be mentally ill.

Separate from naive and ignorant or is that all because of his mental illness?
I’m not trying to win your approval or get you to think as I do, just as you won’t sway my thoughts as well.

That was a fantastic ride, wonderful show.

Nope you’re not alone. I didn’t like the character or his story arc.

That has rattled some folks as it doesn’t align with their thinking but it is what it is.

Whatevs...

I will say....Erin is a huge loose end. I could definitely see her showing back up at some point. You know she's gonna tell her dad and the beating is gonna make sense to him at that point.

from what i remember
shop clerk in first scene gets neck cut and there is splatter
2 money counters get tied up and the people grabbing the money get blown up but all that is offscreen

ruth knees mafia idiot in the gambinos and tosses him over the rail

Darlene punches Wendy

rival cartel dumps bodies outside navarro's (no onscreen violence)

Marty gets slapped (i think)

rival cartel hits money swap - most of that is drone shots and Ruth reaction shots

viewers wince when wyatt and darlene reenact Harold & Maude

Ruth gets stomped

Wendy punches Ben for being a ****up

Helen gets shot

what am i missing?
Helen and Ruth are the only major characters that have significant violence visited on them

Jane Lynch gets waterboarded.

You get bonus points for calling them "gambinos".
