Ever since we mentioned in an Observer notebook last month that Sports Illustrated had claimed the Carolina Panthers set an NFL record this season by using four starting quarterbacks, we've been getting e-mails just as certain that Carolina did not hold the mark.
Those writers were correct.
A call to the NFL offices prompted some quick research by the league, which has comprehensive statistics dating to the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. It turns out that in 1984 the Chicago Bears started five quarterbacks. Full Story – Observerhttp://www.charlotte.com/sports/story/446629.html
