Panthers waived CB Bene Benwikere [claimed by Miami] (2 Viewers)

The deadline for making a waiver claim on Benwikere is 3 PM CT today. The league transactions for the day usually come out around 5 PM. We should know who claimed late this afternoon.

EDIT: The team that claims him will only have to pick up 3/4 of his 600K salary for this year (450K). That's cheap.

We'd almost be a little on the Coo Coo side if we didn't imho

Cleveland at 0-5, would get the first shot at him. Then comes the 5 teams at 1-4. Don't know the tie-breakers on waiver wire positions. It's probably based on strength of schedule to date. Then the four 1-3 teams would get a crack at him. We may make a claim, but with 6-9 teams in front of us, I am not holding out much hope that he would drop to us.

I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get him, just surprised if we didn't put in a claim.

I agree they should make the claim. I think he will get many claim requests. Panther fans were baffled by him being let go as well. They had a 40+ page thread and easily 95% were stunned.

Thanks for the update sir!

Means we didn't put a claim in at all. Good.

No it does not mean that. It just means that Miami was highest on the waiver wire list to make a claim. They are 1-4 and would have won the claim over New Orleans 1-3. I don't know, but we may have made a claim. The league doesn't release all of the teams to make a claim, but sometimes that info leaks out.
