WTH is wrong with people?

No respect for human life and the need for cash to obtain highly addictive drugs at all cost. This is one of those cases that where we need an expedited death penalty. You commit a crime like this and the evidence is ruled overwhelming by an three person board of appeal judges..... perps like this should dead in a month.

No! Don't kill them. Slowly torture them and leave them without arms and legs. Alive. Let them suffer. This is beyond ridiculous.

Unfortunately no matter how heinous or vicious a murder or murders occur, it is highly unlikely that the criminal will ever be executed. Its been 25 years since Antoinette Frank killed her partner and 2 Vietname works, and yet she is still here.

Life imprisoned means they at least get the opportunity to live with others of their ilk, have family visits, three meals a day, free medical care and education, and work outs at the gym that they denied to their victim(s).

For the death penalty to be an effective deterrent, executions must occur very soon after conviction, otherwise it becomes nothing more than state sanctioned murder. Often, when someone is executed 20-30 years their crime, the victims family and loved one have passed or moved on.

Of course there have been cases where someone was found innocent even after their execution. There really is no true justice for anybody involved.

Posts like this are equally concerning as the crime that was committed.
So you are one of the "let's forgive and let God be the judge"? No! This has to stop. If there is no fear of the consequences of your own actions, there will be no hesitation to commit these atrocities.

Exactly, because the consequences are not bad enough to match the crime.

People who have no regard for life could care less about the death penalty or going to jail, etc. They are not sitting around thinking I'll do 5 years in jail, 25 years in jail, or the chair. They do not care, they do not think they will be caught. Your applying rational thought to irrational people. Not saying don't make the punishment more severe, I'm saying they don't care what the punishment is .

A friend of mine from work knows the family.

Merry ******** Christmas indeed

There is no fear, but it's because there is no thought process. There's nothing rational about this type of crime. (risk vs reward? $20 likely!)

This is based on speculation the motive was feeding an addiction, so no telling the brain damage involved. This is nothing new, but you would expect our understanding of such would lead to better prevention, better treatment, better management, better outcomes... :idunno:

I can always count on the EE board for a little xmas cheer. Don't you people ever grow weary of expressing your indignation, along with conceiving and debating the most efficient forms of retribution?
OP could've saved this one...
