Part of the problem (1 Viewer)

Yes, it's part of the problem because he's sitting here saying "oh, I can't say that on TV" and the others are just laughing about it. Is it to the level of blacks getting shot and killed? Nope, not even close, but when are we going to come together on this issue? I'm guessing never, which is sad.

What issue are you talking about coming together over?

When was the last 4.3 40 white guy?

Every freaking year there's a black guy and Deion was the fastest of the fast.

Are you honestly not surprised a white kid ran a sub 4.4 forty or offended that a man who ran one of the fastest ever might be?

The whole race issue is what I'm talking about as far as the original post, but more so just being decent human beings and ignoring race, sex, etc.

Part of "The Problem", IMO, is that we're still referring to "white dudes" and "black dudes". Why can't we just refer to them as just "dudes"?

And I'm no fan of Deion Sanders; one of the greatest CBs to ever play the game, but also one of the most inane idiots to ever offer football commentary. But in Deion's defense, he didn't really say ANYTHING racist...and if anyone connects those dots in that manner, that's on them, IMO...not Deion. Maybe he inferred it, maybe he didn't, but he certainly didn't say it.

I'm a PSU fan. For all we know, Deion could've been shocked that any PSU player not named Saquon had that kind of speed. But you can't say that on TV, cuz there's a LOT of PSU fans in America that Deion don't want to hear from. If you follow PSU football, then that explanation is equally plausible...

I would have figured somebody would have discussed this already.

This bothers me, though. Why is it okay for Deion to say something like this and it's barely a blip on the radar? If the roles were reversed, we'd have headline news coverage of it for days (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but you get my point). Couldn't he have just said, "Wow, that dude is quick. I like it!" instead of making such a big deal about it?
People that think this is part of the problem are the problem.
