Jordan is set as LDE but after that nothing should be set for this coming year.

We need to release Kruger and get a starting RDE who can get to the QB.

Gwachum is worth keeping around with his potential.

Kikaha may be best as a pass rush specialist for now limiting the risk on his knee.

Edabali who had 5 sacks last year only has 1 so far this year and needs some competition for his roster spot.

Tapp is a solid vet who can be retained as insurance which was needed this year.

Depending on where we draft and how the final draft boards end up a few guys to keep and eye on are 1st round Derrek Barnett, Carl Lawson, Tim Williams and Charles Harris late first into the 2nd Taco Charleton, Demarcus Walker and Harold Landry.

Derrek Barnett 6-3 265 has the production and strength but he doesn't have that quick twitch first step some look for. he has 12 sacks 18 TFL and 2 FF on the season

Carl Lawson 6-2 253 if not for his injury history would be a top 10 pick, the good news he has stayed health throughout 2016. He has 9.5 sacks 13 TFL and 1 FF on the season

Charles Harris 6-3 255 is explosive and agile but he also disappears at times inconsistency is a concern here. Missouri pass rushers never seem to live up to expectations I think Harris sticks to that tradition. 9 sacks 2 FF and 12 TFL.

Tim Williams 6-3 252 is more of a 3-4 rush OLB and was seldom used defending the run. He has 8.5 sacks, 15.5 TFL and 2 FF

Taco Charleton has a lot of upside and great size at 6-5 272 and really came on late capped off by a monster game against Ohio State. He has 9 sacks and 11.5 TFL as he came on strong to finish the season.

Demarcus Walker 6-2 273 finished the season with 15 sacks (tied for 1st in nation) 16.5 TFL and 3 FF

Harold Landry 6-3 250 tied for the national lead in sacks this year with 15 but just as impressive Landry is first in the nation in forced fumbles with 7 and 4th in TFL with 20.5 if he declares he could be a huge steal in the 2nd round.

Solomon Thomas 6-2 275 A guy whose stock has shot up the past month he finished with 8.5 sacks and 13 TFL's. He is getting compared to Aaron Donald of the Rams.

I would keep Kruger around just for depth if he would stay on the cheap... he isnt as explosive as he used to be, but he is serviceable. I always thought Lawson was intriguing. Watch more Auburn ball than I care to admit because one of my best friends is a huge Auburn fan. He always seems to be around the ball...

are you looking for just a pass rush specialist to come in on 3rd down or someone to play all three downs and be good against the run also?

I thought Kruger played best when in a 3-4 Defense? Maybe he isn't a good fit in a 4-3?
Or it could just be age has caught up with him?

Your Tim Williams stats are correct for this year, but your scouting report is from last year.

He has played all three downs all year this year and has played as a 4/3 DE all year as well. If he was that easy to run on, you would see some team doing it, lol.

That said, I think the best bet is to get a solid FA DE and then get a Williams or Lawson or Takkarist and let them come in on 3rd downs in 2017 and take over all 3 downs in 2018.

This is clearly the biggest need on the entire team.

We might draft a DE that already have a injury or have a serious injury in the past

Walker from Florida st is a BEAST!!!! I want him on this team. When you watch the noles he is always making plays, especially at the END OF GAMES! He is a gamer and he brings intensity with his pass rush. Outside of Arden Key, he's been the most impressive college rusher I've watched this year.

Solomon Thomas has to be on this list IMO.

I agree, every time I watch Auburn he impresses me. Hoping we draft him. I also like a Walker.

I'd keep Kruger around. He looked like he got better as the season progressed and he became more familiar with the playbook... to me anyway.
Those last few games he was bringin heat and was always around the ball.
