Patriotswire writer proposes trade idea for Chris Olave (131 Viewers)

I don't think Olave has any real value in a trade. He's had what? 5 concussions now? 6? I've honestly lost count. I recall he was having them in college. No ones wants to give up draft capitol for a player thats heavy concussion prone and already should consider retirement for health reasons.
Exactly, Olave is on the end of his career. He should consider retirement.

I can feel an Olave trade coming. Just hope that the compensation is akin to what we got for Cooks - a late first rounder. It sucks, but it is what it is at this point.
You’re not getting what you got for cooks for Olave. The lava is a walking concussion and I’d be surprised to get anything beyond a third round pick for a player that has shown that his career could be over any play.

Problem for us is that you're going to have to move Olave before he bolts and you get nothing for him. I don't see him resigning here.
It all depends on this season. Besides Olave is 1 concussion away from possibly retiring and his trade ain't gonna be 1st or 2nd anyway.

I say all this to say, if Moore can produce a top 15 offense for NO, and Olave stays healthy....we gonna resign him. Olave has a home built in area. He plans on staying from what I seen, unless otherwise noted.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but what gives you the notion that he gon leave?

I think you can get a WR starved team like Baltimore to overpay a little for Olave. A solid 3rd at least. Maybe throw in A 4th to get their 2nd round pick.

Team can get desperate with their Franchise QB

I'd begrudgingly settle for a 2...but I feel like for a KC, Minnesota, Buffalo type of trade I'd want that end of 1st pick...maybe shoot them a 4th to sweeten the pot
You may need to put in a 4th to get a quality 2nd. We will need to see how these WR starved teams do in FA

A couple things....1. That whole s- show w/ KPD a couple years ago "putting his stuff out in the streets" dangling him out there like the night's biggest catch had to have him in a "F this place" type of mood and 2....I don't think he/his camp and Carr get along and if Carr is "the future" then dude probably just wants a fresh start

Vrabel wouldn't do that

We don't need to trade up. If we move Olave, it needs to be for additional draft capital. We are sitting at a nice position at 9 where players with 1st round grades will fall to us.

I'd look at playoff teams in the backend of the 1st who can use a WR2 to support their WR1/Big X.

Houston is a perfect option, Diggs is old and Dell is out for awhile. They could move their 1st for Olave who would pair nicely with Nico Collins who is their Big X #1 WR.
Right if we move up it has to be for one player, either Ward or Sanders., getting to 4 doesn’t help that. We may get Carter at the expense of losing Olave…nah.

The only way you do something like that is if there's a generational player 5 spots ahead of you. For a QB or elite edge rusher maybe. Other than that, I just don't see this as adequate compensation.

Olave was the 11th pick in the 2022 draft. He has 4.39 speed, He has had 2 very good years & 1 injury filled year.

He isn't a bust...

The patroitswire writer is an idiot!
Not a bust, but one hit from forced retirement. He's actually one of the few picks we've hit on in recent years, but like Rankins he has bad injury luck.

Not a bust but he's in the same territory as Brandon Cooks for us. Not gamechanging in the way we thought he'd be, and Cooks had a concussion w/ us as well if I'm not mistaken.

Olave's had 5 documented concussions. Didn't realize that, don't they become easier to get?

Exactly, these posts always crack me up because the terms of the trade are almost always totally unrealistic.....unfortunately, due to no fault of his own, Olave likely has very, very little to no trade value....
