I wouldn't be surprised if this takes off and we all end up paying much more than we do now. Gamers use up a lot of bandwidth simply playing games over the internet, and now that large demos and online content are becoming more popular things can only get more costly. Many people who legally download games, music, and movies use up quite a bit of bandwidth. Many believe that the future of all three of these industries lie on the internet, and if its true it only means more money out of our pockets. It all depends on what they want to charge, but I wouldn't be surprised if all this turns into another celphone contract type business.
I'm not saying it isn't "right," but its a bummer.
