According to Triplett, Payton also said if he's not going to address inaccurate reports, then "tough." When told the team and fans would like assurances, he said, "You don't speak for the fans. You think you do. (But) fans actually get tired of" inaccurate reports.

People writing those articles are spinning obvious things. They always meet after the season so saying they met would be correct spinning it to say it was about SPs future is just throwing inaccurate information into an accurate pot.

If I know a person leaves at 10:30 everyday day then it's easy for me to say yeah Brian left at 10:30 yesterday and then add a lie on the back end of it like "and met with his mistress" it would be somewhat rooted in truth.

When did we find out he spoke with the 49ers? And by whom? I don't remember that at all. I'm not saying you're wrong. I just don't remember that being corfirmef by a credible source.
