Thankfully it sounds like coach is going to be just fine. So now that we know that, hopefully this brings greater awareness to the doubters of the seriousness of this situation.

It can happen to anyone, and the end-result could be much different.

Well, this thread derailed quickly and I have deleted numerous posts to clean it up. These petty arguments about it's a hoax or just the flu vs. this viral outbreak is a very serious problem, is just silly. Nobody is going to change anybody else's mind, so why continue to fill thread after thread with this nonsense? Most of the members here made their arguments and have done so numerous times. Everybody knows your positions. If you do want to continue this nonsense take to the EE Board, but there will probably be a similar outcome. Keep the SuperForum clear of it. Just resist the urge to try to denigrate others for their opinion no matter how tempted you are to respond. Numerous members are just getting sick of it.

Please carry on. This thread is about Coach Payton.

Somebody said Coach Payton gonna blame the refs for this also ??‍♂
This particular offseason has revealed just how insufferable many Saints fans are to other Saints fans.....so I can't imagine what other fanbases are probably thinking. The same people who were probably petitioning for a "do-over" from the shoulda-been-a-penalty spot and whatever lawsuit was attempted that time just seems so embarrassing in hindsight, considering how quickly many of them turned on Brees not even a full year later.

I’ll rather keep my opinion about this coronavirus thing to myself. That being said, I hope coach gets well soon from whatever he has.

Sean Payton is kicking Corona's butt right now and is giving it the choke sign and mocking it with the Skol chant.

Guys...most of us in this forum will get this virus. We are not vaccinated and it's very contagious. The strategy was never to NOT get the virus. It's to get it at different times over the course of a number of months.

I'm so confident that coach Payton won't be the last Saint to get this that we should probably just open a thread dedicated to Saints players with COVID.
Very true. The people that don't get infected will be the real news, it will mean they have some sort of natural resistance. The doctors will be wanting blood samples.

Not saying it is or isn't, BUT, has anyone else had the thought that this announcement may just have been a marketing ploy? I mean, the announcement came the day before season ticket payments were due. And, something is off with the number of quarantine days. We know he was at the race track on Saturday and his message yesterday said "only 4 more days of quarantine". So if he went in Quarantine Sunday and had 4 more days as of Thursday that would mean 9 days of quarantine. Isn't the incubation period 14 days, so what good would a 9 day quarantine do? He said he had no respiratory symptoms, so what would make them do the Covid-19 test if he wasn't having the classic Covid-19 symptom? Just food for thought.

Sean Payton is a genius. Seems like he's managing it fine, which is good.

Why do I say he's a genius? He's ahead of the curve. He'll now have some immunity against COVID-19, while all of the other coaches are trying to avoid it. This is his Belichick moment. ;)

You probably should have delayed your genius statement. Have you seen the Andrus Peat deal?

I'm talking about the season. He won't be scared all season.

Let's not sully this with gripes about specific players who are often hurt, it seems...
