Two costly fumbles won't take away job
By Larry Holder/Sun Herald
METAIRIE, La. - Terrance Copper only caught eight passes in his two seasons with the Dallas Cowboys under the tutelage of then-passing game coordinator Sean Payton.
With all the recent injuries to the New Orleans Saints' receiving corps, Payton has given Copper the opportunity that one might have thought would have gone to Devery Henderson.
In the last two games, Copper has caught 12 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. But what most people remember are the two costly fumbles in the Saints' two consecutive losses. He, along with every other Saints receiver, had problems holding on to the ball.
Payton said the turnovers committed by Copper were disappointing as both occurred as the Saints were driving and both occurred while he was catching the ball over the middle. But Payton still has confidence in Copper.
