Seattle – While confirming that starting quarterback Drew Brees would have surgery Wednesday, Sept. 18 to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton said the offensive plan for Sunday’s game against Seattle will include both remaining quarterbacks, Teddy Bridgewater and Taysom Hill.

Payton acknowledged that the heightened need for Hill at quarterback likely will affect his other roles on special teams and as a tight end, but that because he entered the first two games as the third quarterback doesn’t automatically mean he’ll be No. 2 against the Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.

“I think you do (have to monitor what Hill does in his other roles), and that’s you making the assumption he’s the No. 2,” he said. “We’ll approach this game with two quarterbacks and we’ll see where we’re at with it. We’ll have the right plan relative to what those guys are going to be doing.”

All this means to me is that Taysom will be starting soon.

There is no way you put Teddy and Hill playing QB in the same game and leave with any other inclination than having Hill as the starter is the best chance we have to win.

I don't see anywhere that actually has Payton saying we're using two QB's in the game. The only thing that could confuse someone in thinking that is "We’ll approach this game with two quarterbacks and we’ll see where we’re at with it. We’ll have the right plan relative to what those guys are going to be doing".

That doesn't say they'll both play QB....this is Payton being very sly in his word choices.

Exactly. It's Sean being Sean.

Taysom Hill was giving an interview one of the reporters said Sean Payton told him that they’ll plan to use both QB’s for this upcoming game. What do ya’ll think. The question is on the 51 second mark.

Because that’s exactly what happened when Payton put Hill in the game at the same time as Drew

Let’s not put too much stock into these things just yet. CSP is going to do whatever he can to put this team in the best position to win. But the players have to go out and execute. This isn’t an ideal situation. Let’s see how it unfolds.
