Saints Coach Sean Payton and quarterback Drew Brees have been on the same page from the beginning of this storybook season

When Drew Brees came to New Orleans in March, he knew that something just felt right about it.
He talked about how nice it was to join a team that wanted and appreciated him. He talked about the symbolism of starting fresh along with a rebuilding team and a rebuilding city.
But what Brees did not yet realize was how much Saints Coach Sean Payton would mean to his career.
"I don't think I could have ever imagined that it would be quite like this," said Brees, who immediately became a collaborator in Payton's offensive game plan and later became the NFL's leading passer.
In March, there were serious questions about how far Brees might regress after having major shoulder surgery in January. Instead, he lifted his game to a new level.
