Anyone bought one and have first hand experience with one? Opinion? Scale of 1-10, what would you rate it? Thanks!

It is a baby swamp cooler.

So how it will work dependant totally on where you live.

Swamp coolers work well in low humidity areas the higher the humidity the less you feel

The key to cooling is to pull humidity out of the air in high humidity.

Air conditioning also pulls moisture out of the area they are cooling. That is what all the water dripping is about. Pulling warm air over the coils it reaches the dew point hence all the water.

So if you think about it like that it will answer your questions.

Yea, we tried the swamp cooler route in our shop at work. Worthless. It's just too humid. Last month was just blatantly dangerous to work in. One day shop got up to 108 and 65% humidity. That's a heat index over 171 degrees. I've been working in shops for almost 30 years and last month was the hottest by far.

Yeah I feel ya.

I work outside same but different animal.

The thing outside is not as much moving air but shading your body. Can't absorb the sun like when I was a kid.

Big hat fishing shirts.

I also wear a heart rate monitor to pay attention to. Like a fit bit but you wear it further up you arm.

Works great so you don't over do it once you understand what your body normally does. Heat will make your heart rate go thru the roof. Also you will then take breaks long enough to make a difference.

My last resort is a hat with a flap. It has a pocket in the flap for ice. A bag full of ice on your spine will make you Superman.

Yea,I have the Galaxy watch active, does heart rate and semi accurate blood pressure. Numerous times last month I had to take breaks because resting heart rate was in mid 130s.

Thanks; I know how they work, as I do with many other types of cooling means. I am looking for someone that actually has one and their opinion of them, and how well they work or don’t work. I guess my question wasn’t clear.
