I don’t think he’s awful at all but he’s JAG for sure. Always has been.

Having said that he’s part of a unit that plays pretty dang well most games outside of end of game situations.

I wouldn’t call him “awful,” but I have felt for some time now that we could do better athletically. He’s just always a step short, constantly chasing, never truly dominating and very rarely ever making his presence known.

Was hoping Willie Gay could push him out the two-LB lineup but it looks like the coaches think otherwise.

I think Gay had that shot today but unfortunately got hurt early in the game. He was looking good too.

Yep. He impressed in his short time, right away. Just a very imposing player constantly making his presence felt when he’s in there. That’s what I want out of LBs; not the sound but quiet assassin type.

To put it another way, I like tone-setting DAWGS at linebacker that make splash plays, beat their chests, maybe even dance, and borderline taunt.

He is a good #3 LB behind Davis and Gay. When you go from the worst guy in a group of three to the best guy, you’ve got to do more and have fewer folks to cover for you. Werner cannot cover for our backups.
