Peter King's Top 5 Michael Vick destinations (guess who is #1) (1 Viewer)

Wherever Vick goes he's going to come cheap and just having Vick on our sideline would make defensive coordinators nervous. Now if he was to get 5-10 plays not necessarily snaps coordinators would have to take a whole day just to plan for that, which would give them less time to plan for our already explosive offense. Just the mind games you could play with the opposing team by having Vick in a Saints uniform is worth it for me. I think Micheal Vick is worthy of at least 6 points a game if hes on your team, whether he breaks a run for a touchdown or gets you into field goal range twice. If we had that on our team this year we would be a playoff team.

I think it's more of a compliment to the explosiveness of our offense. We may have the most proficent, explosive offense in the league, and I think fans of high scoring, high-flying offense would like to see an athlete like Vick added to our mix.

I just don't see it.

But why does this make sense to everybody except us?

What it really is has to do with being the #1 offense. There's some kind of mysterious virus that infects people that convinces them that the top rated anything obviously needs more flash in order to continue.

In reality, it makes no sense at all to take the ball out of the hands of a 5,000 yard passer and put it into the hands of a guy who's career completion average is 57%. Yeah, Vick can make exciting runs, but we've got a guy who can do that already in Reggie Bush.

(and before anyone tries it, it's a big difference in a QB scrambling around compared with a running back on a called run.)

Scott Hanson already twittered about this
Per Tom Benson "we're not looking at Vick"

So, we take 10 snaps away from one of the premier QBs in the league to let a guy who could barely hit the broad side of a barn have a shot? Why? Because he can scramble? Um okay. Vick was never that good of a quarterback. Fun to watch? Sure. But never that good.

**edit** And why do people think the Saints are the Miami Dolphins? What has Payton ever done or said that would lead King, or other sports writers to believe, that he would run the wildcat? Payton runs a highly sophisticated, pro-style offense. He isn't going college any time soon.

It always makes sense to someone on the outside looking in. As long as he's not on my team then he looks great on yours.

I believe Vick should be allowed to play. I hope he gets picked up by a team we play twice a season. I wish he was still playing for Atlanta..
This team does not need him even if he never had left for prison, Vick is not worth the headache. To expect Brees to go to the bench for Vick is crazy. We would be better off lining up Reggie behind center than taking a risk signing Vick.

Peter King loses respect with this article.

OMG Loomis put out a press release we have no interest in him NOW!

Actually I bet Vick would be a killer return specialist. Plus this would allow us to not have to carry a back up qb on the active roster.

Brees in any formation > the wildcat.

That's why this won't happen.
:plus-un2:

I don't know why people feel that one of the top 5 offenses over the last three years needs to change it up to go with the wildcat fad.

Vick's style of play does not fit into Payton's offense. I don't see why so many people think otherwise.

And even to address the other speculations... No, I don't want to take a chance on a QB who's been away from football to come in and hope he can be transformed into a RB. I'd rather take a chance on an actual RB.

Vick wants to play again and regain "being Mike Vick". New Orleans is the worst place for him to do that because he's not gonna unseat Brees and I don't think he'll want to transform into another position -- as much as that's been pitched.

I just don't get all the guys in the media throwing out New Orleans as a possible landing spot. I'd see him more going to a team with more of an uncertain QB situation, some team trying to make a move to sure up their offense.

The Raiders and Redskins are about the only two teams I could see being interested right now.
