Peyton Hillis RB from Arky. (1 Viewer)

Maybe starting experience was the wrong description to use. Jones did have plenty of playing time from the HB position. Towards the end of the Alabama game last year, McFadden was dominating till he left with a concussion. Hillis came in and could not gain a first down on an Alabama defensive line that had been beaten up and down the field in the second half.

In their defense though, did you see Casey Dick play QB? He is beyond terrible. McFadden also had a little trouble in that game for a while too, then he broke a few big ones and got the ball rolling in the second half. Hillis will never be a star but he'll be a solid NFL contributor in the Brian Leonard mold who can get 5 carries a game if you need him to. Did you see him at the combine playing in the "Ace" set? He carried the ball pretty well.

As an LSU fan, I am so glad that the terrible trio is finally gone from dem hawgs. RunDMC + Jones + Hillis + Friday after Turkey Day = Bad Indigestion for a lot of folks in Purple and Gold.

Last player that caused that had a last name of Manning. ;)

How about production? Starting experience at the HB position?

He didn't have starting experience as a HB, but he did play HB at times.

That said, I don't think Hillis is an RB, he's a FB. He's not a powerful lead blocker, but he knows who to block and he generally keeps them out of the play. That's enough for how most NFL teams use fullbacks now. Maybe not the Saints, but most NFL teams.
