Just imagine when Rankins gets back... our D-line will open a big can of whoop arse!

:gosaints:

We have immeasurable potential on this D line finally. I hope to God they all develop. Rankins, Onyemata, Davison, Richardson, Edibali, Fairley, Jordan. Dude. That's a lot of beastliness

The entire defense is loaded with young and talented players. Combine that with a better coaching fit and a little bit of consistency in coaching, and you have the makings of a very good D over the next 3+ years. This year may be a little hit or miss, but the next 2 are going to be bonkers.

Just like the Broncos did with Elway and Manning, the Saints have put a plan in place to get Brees to multiple Super Bowls in his last few years.

I get that people wanted an OG right away and that this season may be a bit difficult due to the Oline deficiency. But Oline tends to be one of the more plug and play positions as well as OG being a relatively cheap position to fill. The team weighed their resources and options this year and realized that it was better to "fill up" the defense asap, knowing that with all the cap room available next year, getting an OG (or 2) to come here and help keep Brees upright for a couple years isn't going to be too difficult.

All the while, the defense is going to be young, big, mean, and hungry.

He had a huge last game, the first one could have been better, but can't wait to see Davidson, Failey and Rankins rotate in the middle. always have a fresh group of DTs

Well said, agree.

Go back and watch him on the first 6 plays of the Houston game. He was a monster.

IMO the bright spot of the first two games has been Fairley. It's been a long while since we had a penetrating presence in the middle. Maybe LaRoi Glover?

Laurinitis is playing well too.

See what happens when you stop spending 50 million per free agent...

It was widely said if Fairley plays motivated the Saints had the steal of FA. It appears the former and the latter have come to pass. This guy will get paid I just hope it's in the Black and Gold for 2017

Loved the Nick Fairley signing. He's a southern kid so maybe he is more motivated to play for the region.

Bonchie said it best in another thread. All this Fairley love is going translate into a big payday next off-season.
