lmao, every single team does this, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Saints get slapped for it.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us stripped of our 4th in 2021, and some blame has to go to Sean and Mickey for talking to the media about how this went down.

I mean technically the NFL would be valid in punishing us but our rivalry with them is funny AF at this point :ROFLMAO:

We seem to be deliberately daring them to punish us for things other teams do and the NFL in response is saying "we sure the hell will" lol

Payton is the Stone Cold to Goodell's Vince McMahon.

And Carolina is probably annoyed we dragged them in this

If Payton doesn’t announce it, then it doesn’t happen. It’s like FA several years ago when players were signing one minute after midnight despite not being allowed to negotiate with other teams.

We all know the league is gonna screw the Saints every chance they get... we always get hit for doing something that every other team in the league does (see "bountygate").

But if we're being honest with ourselves.. Sean Payton is the one to blame for this because nobody would have known about this if he hadn't bragged about how it all went down. So now the league has to put on their fake sheriff's hat and come in and punish them.

Sometimes its better to keep it to yourself.

OMG. Every single team does that with UDFAs every single year. That’s how they get signed so quickly after the draft.

Right, and every team let the defensive players set up a kitty for big hits. But they nailed us for it.

Those Coke cans on Payton's desk are not looking very smart right now.

What is the rule? That you can't talk to potential UDFAs? Or that you can't reach deals with them? Because Carolina reached a deal with Stevens that he felt obligated to stick with. So they cheated worse than we did.

Plus, every team could be proven to have cheated by virtue of the fact that each team had people signed up within 5 minutes of the draft ending. Clearly, this isn't a rule that the NFL has any desire to enforce.
