With Grayson gone what QB will the Saints get to build up to replace Brees in two years? To get a top rated college QB in the draft will mean we lose a lot of games this year. What other options do we have? McCown is not the future!!

Jimmy Garoppolo, who Payton liked a lot and went to the same college as him, will be a free agent after the 2017 season. You also have the option of drafting a guy like Chad Kelly.

Free Agency like we got Brees.

QBs of Brees' caliber almost never hit free agency. It was a combo of SD's idiocy and Brees' injury that combined for a perfect storm, so to speak.

I wouldn't count on hitting like that again.

McCown sure didn't impress in pre-season, but if you look at last years game against the Panthers, he almost pulled off the big upset.

I wouldn't call it solid.

Average at best maybe? 71 QB rating, 1/1 TD-INT. A paltry 5 yards a pass (38 attempts to get 190 yards).

Regardless, he is still in the league. But he's the 3rd QB on a team that has their QB for the next 10+ years already starting. I'm not sure where he goes from here.
